Repertory Dance Theatre
Known worldwide for its collection of high energy, humor and drama dance treasures, RepertoryDance Theatre (RDT), is both a museum and contemporary gallery representing the scope and diversity of modern dance, past and present. RDT is a resource center and laboratory for contemporary dancers, choreographers, visual artists, writers and composers.
RDT uses dance as a way to help people become more connected, compassionate, aware, inspired, original, focused, courageous, passionate, and human.In 2021, RDT celebrated its 55th anniversary as the first successful modern dance repertory company in the nation dedicated to the creation, performance, perpetuation and appreciation of modern dance.
Since being founded in 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah, RDT’s commitment to Arts-in-Education has created award-winning activities: Performances, lecture demonstrations, workshops, classes, and mentoring opportunities and outreach events that inspire tens of thousands of students and teachers each year. The outreach events relate to history, music, art, and the environment to help students make stimulating and valuable connections, enabling them to appreciate and better understand the world. While visiting Southern Utah for their performance at Center For the Arts at Kayenta, RDT will visit several schools with their performance outreach program.
In addition to the two performances at Center for the Arts at Kayenta, Repertory Dance Theatre will be doing outreach events at the following schools while in Southern Utah.
October 17 – Bryce Valley Elementary in Tropic, Utah,
October 18 – Crimson Cliffs High School, and South Mesa Elementary in Washington County
October 19 – Springdale Elementary in Springdale, Utah and Horizon Elementary in Washington, Utah.
