Sadly we had to cancel the Art In Kayenta Festival due to COVID-19, but happily we found a way to keep alive the spirit of this almost 20-year tradition! A “Silent Online Auction: Give Life to Art” will keep alive the spirit of this wonderful festival! We will display the auction items in the lobby of the Center for the Arts at Kayenta with mandatory masks while inside. You won’t need to touch anything. Why? Because you can view all of the nearly 100 items from the comfort of your own home, on your computer or smartphone! While you can come to the Center to view the items, photos and descriptions will also appear on the “WinningCause.org” online auction site. All bidding will be online, and you can make a bid from anywhere at any time. This year the AIK Online Silent Auction will run for eight days, from October 10-17, viewing at the Center lobby is from 12-4pm daily.
October 17th A special evening is planned. This event will include the final bidding for “Give Life to Art: AIK Silent Auction 2020”, and will include heavy hors d’ oeurves, desserts, delicious drinks, special guests, special art pieces for auction as well as the final performance of the Pulitzer Prize, Tony and Olivier Award winning play RED, by John Logan. Red is based on American Artist Mark Rothko (Dean Jones) and his assistant Ken (Christopher Whiteside) and the struggle to find love and acceptance as an Artist in America. Both from without and from within.
