Robert Longley

Fri Apr 29, 2022 – Sat Apr 30, 2022 @ 7:30pm

Live at Kayenta! Flamenco guitarist and symphonic composer Robert Earl Longley brings to the stage an art originating in the musical traditions of Southern Spain. A New Orleans native, Mr. Longley is steeped in that city’s rich jazz and blues tradition and his music interweaves a tapestry of influences: jazz, blues, classical guitar, and the folkloric melodies of Andalusia. In his own words: “There’s nothing legitimate about what I do. I know I am the bastard child of flamenco and classical guitar, and I prefer it that way.” His original compositions include ten CDs, and scores for three theatrical films; his soundtracks have been heard at the Sundance Film Festival.
