Kurt Bestor

Music In High Places

Kurt’s Music In High Places was created specifically to be performed in the beauty of Kayenta! All seating, both evenings, is outdoors and with all CDC safety protocols in place this will be a night to repose, relax and remember! Limited admission means getting your seats now is priority one. Set on our plaza against the backdrop of CFAK and the nearby red mountains of Ivins, the atmosphere of this annual concert series is second to none in Southern Utah.

Kurt Bestor loves playing in intimate settings like Kayenta. “I get to connect with the audience in ways I can’t in larger concert halls and venues”.

Throughout the concert, Kurt weaves in the stories behind each song and why and how he wrote them in his warm, humorous style. “You can’t help but feel his own journey through his music,” says Elise West, a lifelong friend/ fellow musician/ devoted fan, “and it touches everyone in a different way. It’s the reason people go to his concerts. Everyone comes to their own interpretation of what the music means for them personally.” Bestor’s unique style has earned him legions of loyal fans around the world. His sound is powerful and, he hopes, “elevating,” having the capacity to evoke joy, serenity and ecstasy. His composing and performing talents has garnered Emmy awards and Grammy nominations. He’s best known for his Christmas music, but he’s also written over forty film scores for national television and commercials. He’s played live concerts to more than half a million people in the past 28 years. Bestor was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, but Utah claims him as their own.

Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsors for making this music event possible; Stephen Wade Auto and St. George Shuttle.

SOCIAL DISTANCE SEATING CHART

Knowing that the presence of art in our lives is essential, we are re-opening our doors in a healthy, safe way. The state may be at the Yellow Phase but we are maintaining the more strict Orange Phase Guidelines for Theaters.

Re-opening guidelines for all performances at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta:

  1. Social distance seating between all ticket groups (SEE SEAT MAP TO LEFT) Please purchase tickets in groups of two or more with family and friends if possible
  2. Temperature checks of all performers before each performance
  3. Mandatory mask wearing for all audience members and front of house staff
  4. Multiple hand sanitizing stations in the Center
  5. Disinfectant cleaning of theater seats, lobby and rest room surfaces after each performance
  6. Cash free transactions, we encourage online ticket purchases directly on our site.

“Only when we all feel safe will we be able to free our spirits to participate with the art being performed.”
