You know this face! It is Beverly Washburn, the renowned child actress you grew up with on TV and in the movies, who has more than 500 TV/film credits to her name. Actress and author, Beverly is touring her show, Beverly Washburn: My Hollywood, sharing stories, anecdotes, and behind-the-scene bits you haven’t heard until now. You’ll remember Beverly in famed films such as: Old Yeller, The Juggler, Shane, The Lone Ranger, and Here Comes the Groom. Some of the memorable TV shows she was in include Leave it to Beaver, The Jack Benny Program, Father Knows Best, Fury, Gidget, The Patty Duke Show, Wagon Train, The New Loretta Young Show, Dragnet, Streets of San Fransisco, Star Trek, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Murder She Wrote, and so many more!
Jay Nagle, a recent transplant from Chicago to Las Vegas brings with him a vast background in the Performing Arts. While in Chicago, he was employed by the Park District for 15 years as a theatre and dance teacher with special emphasis on the early childhood development program. Jay co-founded, wrote and directed for TOTALLY NEW THEATER, dedicated to producing original musical productions from 1990 to 2002. Some of Jay’s acting highlights include the national tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. His New York acting credits included performances at the Lincoln Center Theatre, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway. Jay is currently employed by The Smith Center as a Teaching Artist. He is also working for Southern Nevada’s Wolftrap, Disney Musicals in School program in addition to being a Storyteller Facilitator at Ruvo Center working withAlzheimer patients.
Beverly and Jay will engage your curiosity by the mere fact that she has performed with legendary movie stars, personalities, and directors throughout her life, and has remained friends with most of them. Anyone who has worked with Beverly knows her to be a supremely talented, sweet, and loving actress, as evidenced by the numerous accolades she has received. Barbara Billingsley said, “I couldn’t ask for a sweeter daughter or a better actress.” Jack Webb declared to her that she was, “As fine a performer, and then some, as many of those 3 times your young age.” Lou Costello spoke of Beverly, saying, “There was a little girl by the name of Beverly Washburn, and without her I could not have done it.”
